The Finish Line isn't the Point

This is newsletter #52.

One year. 52 weeks. Zero missed editions.

It’s not flashy.

But it matters. Because anything meaningful in life comes from committing to the process. Writing this newsletter has become a weekly anchor.

A rhythm that reminds me who I am and what I want to create.
Some weeks it’s easy. Some weeks it’s a fight. But I’ve learned this:

The longer you stay in the game, the more clarity you earn.

A couple of weeks ago, I was in Central Park with my daughter Reese. We stood near Columbus Circle—where the New York City Marathon finishes. And I was reminded of a journey I’ll never forget.

I ran that race a few years back.
I pulled my calf early in Brooklyn—NYC was a lot hillier than I expected.
By the time I reached Central Park, my hamstring gave out. I dropped.

And then something happened.

Three strangers jumped out of the crowd.
They helped me up.
They walked beside me until I could limp.
I finished those last two miles—hurting, but full of gratitude.

No one finishes a marathon alone.
No one builds anything meaningful alone either.

That’s how this year has felt. And you, reading this right now, have been part of that support.

You may not realize it, but every time you opened one of these…Every time you replied, shared it, or simply kept reading…You were one of the people helping me up.

So, thank you!

You’ve helped me stay consistent. You’ve reminded me of my why. You’ve shown me that showing up matters, even when it hurts.

We don’t need more information. We need more integration.
That’s what this year taught me.

And now, on to the next chapter.

In Year Two, I’ll be sharing more of what I’ve been building behind the scenes:

  • A breakthrough assessment to help leaders understand how they’re wired and lead with intention

  • A new cohort and community experience for high-performers who want to grow from the inside out

  • And deeper coaching and advising for those ready to stop reacting and start designing their life and leadership

The finish line isn’t the point.
Who we become along the way is.

So let me ask you:

What’s one thing you want to commit to for the next 52 weeks? Big or small. Private or public. Something that matters.

Hit reply and tell me. I’d love to hear it.

Here’s to the road ahead!

Thanks for your support,

Jon
