We need to talk about something that's been on my mind lately—something I see happening to high performers everywhere, especially in sales.

You know the drill. Late nights at the office. Red-eye flights to close deals. Back-to-back meetings that blur into one endless workday. We wear these long hours like a badge of honor, don't we?

But here's what nobody talks about: this path leads to one inevitable destination—burnout.

The Real Cost of "Grinding"

When we push through until we can't, here's what actually happens:

  • Chronic exhaustion becomes your baseline
  • Poor sleep turns into a chronic condition
  • Neglected health starts showing up in doctor visits
  • Constant pressure becomes background noise you can't turn off

Be fully off when you're off. Protect your vacations like million-dollar deals. Guard your evenings like board meetings. When you're present with family, be actually present—not checking emails under the table.

7. Take Strategic Breaks

A 15-minute walk can reset your entire day. Power naps aren't lazy—they're strategic. These micro-recoveries compound throughout your day, keeping you sharp when it matters most.
