Moving from "Someday" to Systematic Action
Hey there. Here's what I know after 25 years of watching both championship teams and high-performing executives:
The leaders who hide their struggles are the ones who get stuck. The ones who transform their vulnerability into systematic strength? They're the ones who build lasting towers of success.
Picture this: You're standing at the base of what feels like an impossible goal. The height is overwhelming. The complexity is daunting. So you wait for the perfect moment, the complete plan, all the pieces to align.
Most of us dream big but get paralyzed by the enormity of our vision.
We convince ourselves we need everything figured out before we begin. That's the trap that keeps our dreams as just that—dreams.
But here's the truth: You don't need to build the entire tower today.
The "With Intention" Approach to Building
You just need to lay one brick. With intention.
Think about every success story you admire. The thriving business started with one authentic conversation. The bestselling book began with one vulnerable sentence. The championship team started with one player deciding to show up differently.
Every tower (literal or metaphorical) was built through systematic authenticity, one intentional brick at a time.
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts, but it starts with that first part.
Your 5-Step Systematic Framework for Starting Today
1. Choose One Intentional Action
Pick something so small it feels almost silly not to do it. Can you finish it in 15 minutes or less? Perfect. That's your brick for today. Not just any task, an intentional one that connects to your bigger vision.
2. Create Your Progress System
Our brains are wired to respond to visible momentum. Whether it's a simple checklist, a habit tracker, or even a jar where you drop a marble for each completed action. Make your systematic progress visible.
3. Acknowledge It Out Loud
Words have power. When you complete that intentional action, say it: "This step counts. It's part of the bigger transformation." You're not just checking off a box; you're building authentic momentum.
4. Prioritize Consistency Over Intensity
Here's what changes everything: 10 minutes of intentional action every single day beats 2 hours of sporadic effort once a month. Systematic authenticity builds neural pathways. It creates identity transformation.
5. Celebrate the Process
This might be the most important step. Momentum builds when you reward effort, not just outcomes. Your brain needs to associate positive feelings with the systematic process, not just the destination.
The Magic of Systematic Micro-Progress
When you commit to laying one intentional brick daily, something transformational happens:
- Overwhelm disappears because you're only focused on today's systematic action
- Confidence grows with each authentic step completed
- Clarity emerges as you learn by doing rather than overthinking
- Momentum builds naturally, making tomorrow's brick feel inevitable
This isn't just about productivity, it's about vulnerability-to-strength transformation. Every small, intentional action proves to yourself that you're someone who honors their vision with daily commitment.
Your One Brick Challenge
Right now, before you finish reading this, identify your one intentional brick for today. Not tomorrow. Not next week. Today.
Write it down. Set a timer for 15 minutes. And lay that brick with intention.
Remember: You're not trying to build Rome in a day. You're proving to yourself that you're someone who takes systematic action. Someone who transforms challenges into stepping stones. Someone who honors their dreams with authentic, daily commitment.
Your tower is waiting. It doesn't need perfect conditions or complete clarity. It just needs you to start, with intention.
What's your one intentional brick for today? Hit reply and let me know. I'd love to cheer you on as you transform that first step into systematic momentum.
Building alongside you,
Jon
P.S. Here's what I've learned after watching both championship teams and high-performing executives: The most successful people aren't the ones with the grandest plans, they're the ones who showed up today with authentic intention and one brick in hand.
Did this resonate with you? Forward it to someone who needs to hear this message. Sometimes we all need a reminder that big dreams start with small steps.
